About Us
"Betel"
Betel is a charity movement, founded in 1990. Since that time, it has been continuously operating in many regions, using various work methods that were available and feasible at a given place and time. The basic purpose and message of the movement is to assist the weak and poor and therefore work on the internal development of the serving person. Its main creed is to support the disabled and ill.
Today, Betel consists of: 5 associations, 7 associations for meetings with disabled people and their families, 11 houses for disabled people, 1 association for integration with disabled people, 4 associations of elderly people, 4 day-rooms for disabled people, 3 voluntary groups, 2 art galleries, 3 holiday houses and radio desk for Among the Weak and Poor programmes with regular, weekly programmes broadcast by fourteen radio broadcasting stations. Every year, we organize or patronize such events as: Peregrination of Disabled People, Hot Hearts' Cup Speedway Tournament, Stabat Mater Dolorosa Meetings, Iuxta Crucem Tecum Stare Meetings, fundraising for assistance to disabled orphans.
According to our estimates, our movement brings together ca. 3,500–4,500 people. Currently, Betel houses are permanent home to 92 persons. We encourage you to familiarize yourself with our activities.
